Knowing About Keyboard.
What is keyboard?

Keyboard instrument, any musical instrument on which different notes can be sounded by pressing a series of keys, push buttons, or parallel levers. In nearly all cases in Western music the keys correspond to consecutive notes in the chromatic scale, and they run from the bass at the left to the treble at the right.

The inventer of musical keyboard

The inventor of the piano, Bartolomeo Cristofori (1655-1731) hailed from Padua, Italy. He was employed by Ferdinando de' Medici, Grand Prince of Tuscany, as the Keeper of the Instruments.

observing the keyboard

If we see musical keyboard in the above picture a group of Keys are arranged in an order.
In these keys we can see two types of keyboard .There are

  1. white keys
  2. Black keys
White Keys

The white keys are known as the natural keys, because they sound a natural note as opposed to the sharps and flats of the black notes.

The first thing you'll want to do is find Middle C. In the centre of the keyboard you should see three white keys surrounding two black keys ,you see in above picture. The furthest left of these three keys is Middle C. As a starting point for beginners put the index finger of your right hand on this key. From here you should find it comfortable to press the keys above Middle C. Now do the same with your left hand, this time pressing the keys below Middle C. There are seven natural notes on a piano: C, D, E, F, G, A, B. You'll notice that the pattern of two black keys surrounded by three white keys then three black keys surrounded by four white keys repeats itself several times up the keyboard. The keys run in alphabetical order from A to G. The three white notes surrounding the two black keys are C, D, and E, and the four white notes surrounding the three black keys are F, G, A and B.

Black keys

The black keys on the piano are known as the flat and sharp keys.
Each black key acts as both a sharp and a flat.
Sharp
A sharp is a note that's half a step higher than the corresponding white key.

First, let's focus on moving to the right from Middle C. The black key immediately to the right is C sharp (C#). This is half a step up from C. Take another half step and you’ll be at D. Working in order from Middle C to the right the sharps are C#, D#, F#, G# and A#. B# and E# are C and F respectively, although they are rarely referred to in the former manner. Always remember that sharps are to the right

In the below picture you can see all sharps(C#,D#,F#,G#,A#)

Flat

The flats are half a step lower. Now find Middle C again and this time go left. The first black key is B flat (Bb). Working down in order from Middle C the flats are Bb, Ab, Gb, Eb and Db. Cb and Fb are B and E respectively, although again they are not usually denoted this way. Flats are always to the left of a note.

Sharp is represented with symbol (#)
Flat are represented with the symbol (b).
OCTAVES

The distance between a note and the next time that note repeats on the keyboard is called an octave.
So, for example, C-C is an octave.

We can see an example of octave in keyboard in below picture

So,octave means we can say distance from a particular note to the same note repeated.so,we can take another example with another note like C#.
From C# note to another C# it can say an octave.we see the image below.

How many octaves in keyboard

There are many types of keyboards we can find now a days.
example:

  • 32 keys keyboard
  • 61 keys keyboard
  • 88 keys keyboard,etc.
In one one type of keyboard there are different number of octaves.
example:
In 32 keys keyboard there are 2 1/2 octaves .we can see below pictue to see 32 keys keyboard.

In 61 keys keyboard contains 5 octaves.Below the picture was presented.

In 88 keys keyboard there are 7 octaves.Below the picture was presented.

Bass celf,Middle celf,tremble celf

Any keyboard has mainly 3 parts which each part have one speciality.A music which was played by these three parts it will be very beautiful.

what are these 3 parts?

  1. Bass Clef
  2. Middle Clef
  3. Treble clef
Bass CLef:

It is mostly used to play background chords and appreggios(which can be introduced coming pages). Mostly this bass clef was used to play bass in the song or any music. So , it was called bass clef.

How we can find bass clef ?

To find bass clef firstly, we have see the middle C note. Now we see the note C before octaves. The left starting note of the keyboard to the middle C note we can call as bass celf.

Middle Clef:

It is used play tune, song, etc. In these part we can also play chords, etc.
It was named as middle clef because it was placed in the middle the keyboard.
How we can find middle clef ? To find middle clef we have to find C note in the midde of keyboard. Then we can have see the octave after the C note in the middle of the keyboard.

Tremble Clef:

Tremble Clef was the part which was the last part in keyboard. It was mainly used to play higher ranged notes or tunes.
It give more beauty to the music which we have to play.

How we can find tremble clef ?

Tremble clef was the last part in keybord. So we can find it after the middle clef.Tremble was end with the right late note in keyboard.
